Sharing the Credit

* For US and Canadian Nonprofits

When growing my nonprofit budget from $750K to $2.5M I had to be innovative and explore different fundraising models. I am hosting an informational Zoom with Sharing the Credit and the Meridian Foundation on how they help businesses legally redirect MC & Visa fees taken out at the end of the month, and give it in pre-tax dollars to a preferred charity. Nonprofits have earned $1,500 to upwards of $30,000.

Here is some information to consider.

1. Innovation for nonprofits is important.
Nonprofit organizations are experiencing increasing pressures to be more business-like and to focus on financial outcomes for sustainability and growth. A nonprofit's mission can facilitate innovation, which has been shown to be a key mediating step in achieving superior organizational performance.

2. Diversified revenue is critical for a healthy nonprofit.
A diversified revenue stream can reduce financial stress during times of economic decline by relying on more than government contracts and donor pools. Alternative revenue sources provide the diversification to create a more stable organization. A sign of a healthy nonprofit organization is a diversified budget that does not have more than 20% of its revenue from one source.
